Snowfall in the Białowieża Forest - weather monitoring

Although the winter season has not yet started (the beginning of the calendar winter falls on December 22), a layer of snow covered the forest. The Białowieża Forest slowly takes on a winter landscape. This sight undoubtedly pleased all the children who were just waiting for to make a snowman, and reminded adults of the need to find a snow shovel.

In today's news, we encourage you to walk in the forest, snowy (we appeal for warm clothes). This is an ideal time to observe traces of the existence of animals that move due to more difficult access to food. The tracks of the king of the Forest - a bison, as well as deer, roe deer and wild boar are particularly visible. However, before you go on a snowy escapade, it is worth checking the weather conditions in the Forest. The Meteoportal made under the ForBioSensing project comes to the rescue: http://www.forbiosensing.pl/portal-mapowy/pages/meteoportal?execution=e1s1

This website collects and presents data from 3 weather stations and provides the following information, including: relative humidity, air temperature, precipitation, soil temperature or wind speed and direction. The portal also provides online images of the station's surroundings from two cameras.

We encourage you to check and observe the current weather conditions in the Białowieża Forest.
